The School of Languages is a sub-college primarily dedicated to training English and Chinese teachers for elementary and secondary schools. Established in 2001, it initially enrolled students nationwide for its five-year English major program. The School of Languages was officially established in 2016, launching its undergraduate program in English (Teacher Education) in the same year. We encourage students to study overseas (online) and formulated schemes for exchange programs with the National Changhua University of Education for Chinese and English majors, realizing mutual recognition and transfer of credits. We organize information sessions on overseas study programs and TESOL certificate. We also have established a collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). In the past few years, many graduates went to aboard for short-term exchanges and pursued master’s degrees overseas, with 11.2% of the 2024 graduating class pursuing overseas master’s programs.
Guided by its motto, Universal Love Nurtures the Soul, the School adheres to four core development strategies: distinctiveness, integration, innovation, and openness. It conducts extensive scientific research in both Chinese and foreign languages and literatures, enhances teaching innovation and specialized curricula, and hosts academic events like the 2023 Forum on Humanistic Development, themed Language, Literature, and Disability Studies, and the 2024 International Conference on Community of Shared Future: Language, Literature, and Disability Studies.
